How do installers rank on Google?

Heat pump SEO that gets installers found on Google

Installers rank with three things: a Google profile that names the work, pages that answer the cost and grant questions people ask before they enquire, and reviews from real jobs. We do that work for UK installers, for £495 a month with no contract.

We have 3 Google reviews so far. These two are from heating businesses, about a website and a Google profile, not about SEO results. The third is from another trade, so it isn't shown here.

Who you're up against

Your search rivals on Google are mostly not other installers.

Look at page one for near-me searches and you'll find government, manufacturers, a network and directories. Those sites have far stronger links than a local firm can build quickly. So you don't try to beat them on links.

  • Get into the map. Google's map results sit above those sites, and they only show local businesses.
  • Use their lists. If a manufacturer or network lists you, make sure your entry is right and links to you. They rank, so they send people.
  • Go narrower. A page on one system in your county usually has fewer rivals than the national term.

What the work is

SEO for heat pump installers: eight jobs, soonest wins first.

Google ranks pages and profiles, not companies. So ranking comes down to a short list of jobs, done in order and kept up. All of it is in the £495.

  • Your Google profile

Every system you fit and your servicing listed, with your own photos. Near-me searches show a map.

  • A page for each system, from air to ground source

Each system brings a very different size of job. One page can't rank well for them all.

  • A cost page

Cost gets more searches than installers do. A straight answer on your prices earns the first call.

  • A grant page

Who qualifies, what you claim for them and what's left to pay, kept right as the rules change.

  • Area pages with real jobs

Only for towns you've worked in. Swapping the town name helps nobody, and Google's spam rules say so.

  • Reviews after each install

A short link to send, and a reply to each one. Google says reviews can help your local ranking.

  • Technical fixes

Quick on a phone, nothing broken, and every page readable by Google.

  • A plain-English report

What we did, what moved and what's next. Including what hasn't worked yet.

Our proof, all of it

We have one website to show you, and it's days old.

NuRenewables Heating is Kirk Ferguson's firm, covering London, Herts, Beds and Essex. We built its website. We don't do its monthly SEO, so this shows how we build pages, not how they rank.

  • 27pages

In the live sitemap: a page per service, four area pages and advice articles.

  • 31October

The day it went live in 2026. Search Console and analytics were set up from day one.

  • 0results yet

No rankings, clicks or enquiries to report. It's too early, so we won't guess.

The honest bit: we have no monthly client in this trade and no ranking to show you. Our monthly SEO client works in another trade, and that result doesn't prove anything about heat pumps, so those numbers stay off this page. What you can judge today is the site itself: the Heat Geek and Gas Safe credentials by the first button, an instant estimate, and a Bushey project that gives the system size, heat loss and flow temperature. See what we built

What it costs

One monthly price, set against what leads cost.

We publish it so you can rule us in or out before you talk to anyone.

When it pays for itself
The lead prices we found published for this work run from £15 to £75. At those prices, £495 is 33 leads at £15, or 11 at £45. See heat pump leads: buy or build? We don't sell leads.
How fast it works
A neglected Google profile can move within weeks. New pages usually take a few months to settle.
Everything stays yours
The pages, profile, reviews and links are still yours if you stop.
If your site is the problem
A new site is £600 one-off, and we design your homepage free first. A Google Business Profile is £297 to set up or £247 to overhaul.

Who does the work

Two people, and no account managers.

  • James TandyJames has done SEO for over ten years.
  • StephanieStephanie has 13+ years in the energy industry and leads our design and branding.

We take one installer per trade in the town where they're based. More about us

Is it right for you?

It suits installers with a certificate and room in the diary.

A good fit

It's right for you if

  • You're MCS certified, or you sell able-to-pay work and say so clearly
  • You can take on more surveys over the next year
  • You'll send us photos and details from real jobs
  • You're happy to be first in line with us while our proof is young

Not the right time

It's not right for you if

  • You need surveys this week. Ads or bought leads are quicker, and we don't sell either
  • You want to see results in this trade before you start. We don't have them yet
  • You want a guaranteed number one spot. Nobody controls Google

What people type

Most searches start with cost, not with an installer.

Almost nobody searches for an agency like us, but plenty search for what you do. Installer searches are smaller and closer to a job. Cost and grant searches are bigger and earlier. A site that ranks needs a page for each stage.

Your pages

What a page needs before it can win a survey.

Ranking gets you the visit, and the page has to do the rest. These are the things we'd put on an installer's site, most important first.

Put your MCS certification in words

Only an MCS certified installer can apply for a grant voucher on a property owner's behalf. So it's the first thing a grant buyer needs to see.

A logo in a footer isn't enough. Google reads text, so your MCS status and number should be written out on the page, the same way each time. We only write what we can check on the register.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme: a page you own

The grant is why many people start looking, so your site needs a page on it. Official sites explain the scheme. Yours explains how it works with you.

The figures your page has to get right

  • £7,500 off an air-to-water, ground source or water source heat pump
  • £9,000 off an air-to-water or ground source heat pump in eligible off-gas grid properties, until 31 March 2027
  • £2,500 off an air-to-air heat pump, residential properties only

England and Wales. Source: Ofgem, checked 3 November 2026.

That £9,000 line ends on a set date, which is why we check every figure at each update. A page that still quotes old grant rules loses the reader's trust, however well it ranks.

Claims about energy bills can sink a page that ranks

Don't publish a savings figure you can't back up. On 4 March 2026 the ASA upheld a ruling against an energy supplier's ad that promised savings of up to £546 with a heat pump.

The ad didn't say the figure was modelled, and the evidence didn't show a significant proportion of customers would save that much. The CMA's advice on marketing green heating says much the same: an "up to" claim on energy bills should be something a significant proportion of people would achieve.

So on the pages we write, a savings or carbon figure only goes in if you hold the evidence, and the page says what it's based on. Sources: ASA ruling and CMA advice.

Answer the doubts your surveyors already hear

People research this for a while. It isn't bought in a panic like an emergency repair. The installer who responds to the doubts first gets the call.

NuRenewables' site answers cost, running costs, noise, disruption and radiators. Other questions you'll know from your own surveys: cold weather running, cooling in warm weather, home size, room for a hot water cylinder, changes to the heating system, and what happens to the old gas boiler. We write these from what you tell us and from your real jobs. We won't make up engineering claims, and you check each page before it goes live.

Show real installs, with the numbers

A photo of a unit proves you fitted one. The design figures show you know how.

A directory listing can't do this, so it's one of the easiest ways to stand apart. If you've got real installs in a town, that's what makes its area page worth having.

Measure surveys booked, not visits

Visits don't pay for a van. We track calls, form enquiries and which searches brought them, and your report shows that data each month.

The market gives you a reason to start now. Government figures show 9,738 applications for the grant in September 2026, up 138% on September 2025 (DESNZ). That's demand, not a promise of enquiries for you.

Questions

Questions installers ask us.

Something else on your mind? Ask us. You'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.

Ask us on WhatsApp
Is this a real specialism, or just SEO with a new name?

Ahrefs shows almost no UK searches for the phrase "heat pump SEO" itself. The method is ordinary local SEO. What differs is the content: grant rules, MCS, design figures, and a longer decision than most trades. That's why Stephanie's 13+ years in the energy industry matter next to James's 10+ years in SEO.

Can you show me a heat pump installer you've ranked?

No, not yet. We've built one website in this trade, and it went live on 31 October 2026. We'll add the numbers to our results as they come, good or bad.

Why would I go first?

Because the guarantee sits on enquiries: miss the target we agree in writing after 6 paid months, and we work free until we hit it, for up to 6 more months. You also get one installer per area: we take one installer per trade in the town where you're based. It doesn't cover everywhere you're willing to travel.

How is this different from your solar SEO?

Solar searches are led by the product and the town, and our solar page has real results behind it. Here the grant, MCS and the doubts carry more of the weight, and the proof is thinner. If you also fit panels or a battery, those get their own pages too.

Will you say I'm MCS certified if I'm not?

No. We check the register before we write it. If you work under another firm's certification, ask MCS and that firm what you can say first.
