Google reviews
What our clients say.
These are all 3 of our Google reviews. They're about website and Google profile work.

Rated 5 out of 5 on Google
“Amazing service from James can't recommend him enough... Really helped me setting up my business page. Goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy. Lovely guy as well. 10/10 service”
The problem
A good-looking website can still lose the survey.
Homeowners check installers online before they pick up the phone. If your site hides your prices, reviews and the areas you cover, they've got no reason to book.
What's on the site
What a solar website needs.
Good solar website design has one job: get homeowners to book a survey. Good looks alone won't do that. A solar company website needs a page for every product, clear pricing, your MCS certification up front and a quick way to book. It's the same build as our renewable energy web design, shaped around how people buy solar.
-
A page for your panels
Your systems explained in plain English: what fits on a typical roof, how solar power cuts a bill, and what's included. It's the page Google sends local solar searches to.
-
Battery storage, on its own page
For homeowners adding storage to panels they already have, and for new installs with both. It's a different search and a different job, so it gets its own page.
-
A cost and payback page
When we planned SolarSave's new website, searches about cost were the biggest group by far. So it got a cost page with real prices and what each one includes. Payback depends on the home, so we use your own worked examples, never made-up savings.
-
Commercial systems, if you fit them
Business owners search differently from homeowners, and the nature of the job is different. If you install commercial systems, they get their own section with the information a business needs.
-
Export payments and finance
Under the Smart Export Guarantee, energy suppliers with 150,000 or more domestic customers must offer a tariff that pays for exported solar energy from eligible small systems. We explain it simply, and show any finance in your provider's approved wording.
-
MCS and accreditations up front
Your MCS certification and other approvals sit next to the first button, where homeowners decide. This is SolarSave's strip, straight under its form:
-
A gallery of your installs
A portfolio of real photos of each project, with the town and the system. Phone photos are fine. No stock images of someone else's roof.
-
A page for each area
One for every town you want work from. SolarSave's run from Retford out to Sheffield, Nottingham and Chesterfield. Each one shows your installs from that area when you have them, so a homeowner sees work near them.
-
Roof survey booking
A short two-step form that's easy to use: postcode first, then contact details. It takes a few taps on a phone, and every enquiry comes straight to you.
Tips from a live site
A homepage that works like a landing page.
A good solar homepage answers three questions before anyone scrolls: can I trust you, roughly what will it cost, and do you cover my area? Here's how SolarSave's homepage, which we designed and built, answers all three. Each number on the image marks one of its real elements.
Proof in the first line
The strip at the very top says 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, MCS certified installers, and in solar since 2010, in Retford. The menu puts Prices and Areas we cover one tap away.
Reviews above the headline
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 36 Trustpilot reviews, and 5.0 on Google. Nobody has to hunt for them.
A headline about the homeowner
“Lower Electricity Bills With Solar Designed for Your Home.” Above it, one line says who they are and where: local MCS certified solar panel installers in Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Five reasons, as ticks
0% deposit, most homes fitted in a day, a free consultation and written quote, a 30-year panel performance warranty, and homes within 100 miles of Doncaster. Easy to scan on a phone.
A guide price, then one question
The form opens with a price: solar panels and a battery, fully installed from £7,500, 0% deposit. Then it asks for a postcode, to check they cover the area before asking anything personal.
Accreditations under the form
MCS, RECC, NAPIT and IWA, right where people decide whether to fill it in.
One more tip: name your pages the way people search. Homeowners search for panels, batteries and prices, so call your pages that, not “energy solutions”, and use the same words in each page's title and description. Keep text readable and contrast strong, for accessibility as well as for phones. Your layout will look different to SolarSave's, because your business is different. It still has to answer the same three questions.
How it's built
Website design that's custom coded, not a template.
Your website is custom coded for your business, with no templates and no page builders. It's coded for speed, so your pages load quickly on a phone.
A typical template site
- Built on a theme anyone can buy
- Plugins for extra functionality, and updates to keep on top of
- Page builders that can add a lot of extra code
- Often one services page for everything you fit
- Often stock photos of someone else's roof
Your website from us
- Designed by Stephanie around your brand and logo
- Custom coded in HTML, with no templates or page builders
- Responsive design, coded for speed, so it loads quickly on a phone
- A page for everything you fit and every town
- Your own install photos, with the town and the system
The trade-off: there's no dashboard to edit it yourself. Changes go through us, and small ones are free while we host it. Your website is also the base for the rest of your solar marketing. If you run Google or Meta ads, send them to these pages: each works as a landing page, built to turn a visit into a survey request.
Proof
SolarSave: rebuilt around real searches.
SolarSave fit panels and batteries in and around Retford. Their old website barely showed up for solar searches. We rebuilt it around what people actually search, and two days after launch Google was showing it about ten times more often.
-
Before
21 pages, found by name only
For over a year the old site got about 47 clicks a month from Google, nearly all from people who already knew the name. In 16 months, just 19 clicks came from people searching for solar in general.
-
The plan
366 searches, mapped to 70 pages
Before writing a word, we mapped every useful search to a page: hubs for solar panels, batteries and commercial solar, a cost page, a page for each area, and guides that answer buyers' questions.
-
17 October 2026
A 72-page site goes live
Custom coded, every word written for them, with the MCS strip and a two-step enquiry form on the homepage.
-
The first 11 days
6 enquiries, 2 booked calls
At SolarSave's own prices, £25 to £35 for an exclusive lead and £200 for a booked appointment, that's about £500 to £540 of enquiries they didn't have to buy.

1341,977Google views a day, two days after launch14.47.1Average map rank for "solar panels" round Retford (lower is better)
The honest bit. Clicks are still about 4 a day, because most new searches sit on page four to six. That's normal for a new site with few links. Moving it up is the job of our solar SEO.

Questions
Questions renewable energy installers ask.
Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp and you'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.
Ask us on WhatsAppCan you show solar panel prices on my website?
Yes, if you want to. We show your own prices or price ranges, what each one includes, and whether VAT is included. Cost searches were the biggest group in SolarSave's research, so a clear cost page is usually worth having.
Do I need a separate page for battery storage?
If you sell batteries, yes. Homeowners search for storage on its own, often to add one to panels they already have. A page of its own lets Google send those searches to you.
Do you design websites for commercial solar installers?
Yes. Commercial solar gets its own section, written for business owners, alongside your domestic pages.
Why use a specialist in web design for solar companies?
Because buyers check the details: MCS, batteries, export payments, finance wording and how to book a survey. A general web designer may not know them. Stephanie has 13+ years in the energy industry, so your energy website gets them right, and we build for solar installers like SolarSave.
Can I keep my domain and email?
Yes. Your web address stays in your name. We switch it to your new website, redirect your old pages and leave your email untouched. Your current website stays up until the new one is live.
Will my solar website rank on Google?
No honest person can promise a position. Your website launches built for search, with a page for everything you sell and every town. Climbing higher after that takes links and steady monthly work, which is what our monthly service does.
Can the website cover other work, like roofing?
Yes. Your 20 pages are planned around what you sell. If you also do roofing, electrical work or EV chargers, they get their own pages alongside your solar ones.
Do you help with marketing after launch?
Yes, if you want it. Our monthly service is £495 a month with no contract. It covers your Google Business Profile, new pages, technical fixes, listings, reviews and a plain-English report each month. You can start with the website alone and add it later.
What do you need from me?
A few answers about your business, your MCS details and any accreditations, the contact info you want shown, your prices if you want them on the page, and photos of your installs. No need for professional photography: phone photos of finished roofs on a clear day work well.
