What two heating firms say about us.

Both reviews are about a website or a Google profile. Neither is about gas work or SEO results. We have 3 Google reviews in all, and the third is from a solar client.

Your biggest advantage

Your Gas Safe registration should work as hard as your Google profile.

Gas work is different. By law, only registered businesses can do it, and HSE tells landlords to check the engineer's card or the register. So we build your registration into every page.

  • Write it out. A logo in a picture says little to Google. Put "Gas Safe registered" and your business number in the text.
  • Use the registered trading name. The register's own magazine warns that a different name on your branding can bring action. Your site, van and profile should match it.
  • Use your business number. Each engineer's licence number changes every year, so it goes stale on a website.
  • Only list what you're qualified for. The ID card shows your areas of work. Don't advertise beyond them.

“We will never lie to a client, even when telling the truth costs us money.”

James and Stephanie

We check before we write

We look you up on the register first, and we only write what it shows. Registered firms get an official marketing toolkit, with its logo and templates, so we use that rather than a copied badge.

Where the searches are

Four kinds of gas work, four kinds of searcher.

"Gas engineer" is what you are. It's often not what your customer types. They search for the job, so your site needs a page for each job you want more of.

UK-wide monthly estimates from Ahrefs, 3 November 2026. They're modelled, and your share is one area of them. Who's searching is our reading of the words, not measured data. Near-me searches show a map.

Boiler repairs: be easy to reach

Someone with no heating won't read much. They want a local number, proof you're real and a sign you'll answer.

That makes your profile, your reviews and your hours the main work. An emergency line only goes on if someone really picks up. A national energy firm ranks near the top here, yet Ahrefs found two local firms with no link strength on page one as well.

Boiler servicing: the work that comes back

Service searches top this table, and a customer you service is likely to ring you first when something fails.

Give servicing its own page. Say what's included, what it costs and how to book. Then keep the customer: a yearly reminder costs very little and needs no ranking at all.

Installations: your biggest jobs

Searches for installations are smaller, but each one is a bigger job. The search for "new boiler" is about 10,000 a month, and it isn't local, so we start with boiler installations near you.

An install page should show each gas boiler you fit, such as a Vaillant combi if that's your brand, your photos and a clear way to get a quote. Only name a brand if you're really approved for it, or really fit it.

Gas safety checks: work that returns each year

HSE says landlords must have a gas safety check done every year on each appliance and flue, and that a Gas Safe registered engineer must do it. So this work comes back by law.

Your customer here is a landlord or letting agent, not a homeowner. A page written for them should say what you check, how fast you send the record, and how you handle several properties. Reviews from agents help too. Source: HSE.

Standing out locally

Reviews and local links help small firms get found.

Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking, and that links from other websites count towards how well known you are. A national brand can't get a review from your street. You can.

What we'd do

Worth your time

  • Send a short link after each job, and reply to each one
  • Ask customers to say what you did and where, in their own words
  • Match your details across the main directories
  • Earn links from real local sites, such as suppliers and community groups

What we won't do

Not worth the risk

  • Buy links. It breaks Google's spam policies
  • Write reviews for you, or pay for them. Fake reviews are banned by law
  • Add keywords to your business name. Google can suspend you for it
  • Promise you number one. Nobody controls Google

Before you read on

We have no gas engineer results to show you.

No gas firm has had monthly SEO with us yet. The nearest we've got is two heating websites, and a Google profile for a plumbing and heating firm. The rest of this page is how we'd approach SEO for gas engineers, and why. Judge it on that.

  • 0gas results

No rankings or counts of enquiries from SEO for a gas engineer. We won't borrow another trade's numbers.

  • 2heating websites

DW Plumbing and Heating in St Neots, and NuRenewables Heating, whose site shows Kirk's Gas Safe registration by the first button.

  • 10+years in SEO

James does your SEO himself. Stephanie brings 13+ years in the energy industry.

What covers the gap: the 6 + 6 Guarantee sits on enquiries. Agree a target in writing, and if we haven't hit it after 6 paid months in a row (£2,970), we work free until we do, for up to 6 more months. See the results we do have

What it costs

One price, and you can stop any time.

No per-lead fees and no tie-in. You stay because it's working.

When it pays for itself
Divide £495 by what a typical job leaves you. That's the number of extra jobs a month it takes. Use your own figures, because we have none from gas firms.
How fast it works
A neglected profile can move within weeks. New pages usually take a few months to settle.
Everything stays yours
The pages, profile, reviews and links are still yours if you stop.
Only want the map listing?
We can set up a Google Business Profile for £297, overhaul one for £247, and keep it fresh for £147 a month.

What we'd do

What we'd do, month by month.

The jobs that bring in calls soonest come first. Our tools show us which searches matter in your area, and which firms hold them, so we can see where you can improve.

  1. Today

    Ask for your free review

Two minutes. Tell us what gas work you want, and where.

  2. Usually the same day

    See where you stand

Where you rank, who beats you, what we'd fix first, and your target.

  3. Month one

    Sort your Google Business Profile

Your services, your area, photos, details matched to the register, and call tracking.

  4. Months two to six

    Build, job by job

Repair, service, install and landlord pages, then towns where you have real jobs. More reviews and local links.

  5. Every month

    A plain-English report

What we did, the enquiries it brought, and what's next. Traffic only counts if it turns into calls.

What it takes from you: access to your profile and website, the odd job photo, and asking happy customers for a review. Nothing changes day to day.

Who does the work

Two people, and no account managers.

  • James TandyJames has done SEO for over ten years.
  • StephanieStephanie has 13+ years in the energy industry and leads our design and branding.

We take one installer per trade in the town where they're based. More about us

Is it right for you?

It suits installers with room for more gas work.

It's right for you if you can take on more gas work, and you can give it a few months, because SEO builds month on month.

It's not right for you if you need installs in the diary this week. Ads are quicker, and we'll say so.

Your other options

Directories, bought leads or your own pages?

All three can bring work. The difference is who else gets the customer, and what's left when you stop paying.

If you're more than a gas engineer

Heating engineers: most of this still applies to you.

Plenty of gas engineers are plumbers too, or work as a heating contractor, or also do heat pumps. Each of those has its own searches and its own rules. Here's what changes.

  • Plumbers who also do gas

HSE says an unregistered plumber can do wet work, but not the boiler or its final connection. Say clearly who does what.

  • Whole heating systems

If you offer full heating services, central heating gets its own page. See SEO for heating engineers for that side.

  • Adding heat pumps

A different buyer, with grant and MCS questions. See SEO for heat pump installers.

  • Heating work for businesses

Commercial work needs its own page, with proof of the sites you've done. Don't mix it into the domestic ones.

Questions

Questions gas engineers ask us.

Something else on your mind? Ask us. You'll get a straight answer, usually the same day.

Ask us on WhatsApp
Should I put my Gas Safe number on my website?

Yes, your business number, written out, with your registered trading name. It's easy to check and easy for search engines to read. Leave off engineers' licence numbers, which change every year.

Can I use the Gas Safe logo on my site?

If you're registered, yes. Registered firms get a marketing toolkit with the logo and advice on using it. Use that one, and ask them if you're unsure.

Have you done SEO for a gas engineer before?

Not on this business. We have no gas results to show you, which is why the guarantee sits on enquiries.

Can SEO get me fewer breakdowns and more installs?

It can shift the mix, because each job has its own page and searches. If you give the install pages more of the work, they're more likely to climb. We can't promise a mix, as Google decides the order.

Do you write safety advice for my customers?

Only what you'll sign off. It's a safety topic, so you or another qualified person checks it before it goes live. We don't give technical advice in your name.

What does one firm per area mean?

We take one firm per trade in the town where they're based. It doesn't cover everywhere they're willing to travel.

Can I do this myself?

Some of it. Claim your Google Business Profile, match your details to the register, and ask each customer for a review. Writing pages and earning local links takes steady time each month, and that's the part we do.
